The untamed fire represents the fire that rages within us from unhealed trauma.

What is trauma?

Gabor Mate explains trauma as a "psychic wound that hardens you psychologically that then interferes with your ability to grow and develop. It pains you and now you're acting out of pain.

It induces fear and now you're acting out of fear. Trauma is not what happens to you, it's what happens inside you as result of what happened to you."

When we are authentic and honest with ourselves the wounds of trauma can be surprising. A good indication that trauma maybe present is if thoughts are reoccurring or you may hear yourself or someone else say to you that you just need to "get over it" or "move on".  Our modern day society is fraught with a build up of trauma occurrences on a daily basis with very few places to unpack and process our experience.

My life experience and work with trauma and PTSD in a counselling and therapy setting, has grown my understanding and love for working with the hard stuff. It is beautiful and humbling experience to be in the presence post traumatic growth.
